View from our current petite chambre in Montmartre. The outlines of roofs, sky, voices reaching in – I have yet to find Paris quiet. Evenings are my favorite; crossing grand streets as all the shops are about to close, cafés and cinemas still awake, looking into lit-up windows and peering at balconies brimming with flowers. It will be another week until we get the keys to our own temporary parisian home, meanwhile we’re staying with unknown but kind people and renting tiny rooms, it works. I have gotten used to the change of season, planning to stock up on flats and a cardigan soon. On Thursday I turned twenty-one with two decorated Ladurée boxes. An afternoon passed within the elegant Musée Rodin; then nights with films and words. It feels strange being in Paris without having to rush to see all, visit everything, photograph each memory. Strange yet quite beautiful.

I love the Musee Rodin and it’s so “you” as well. Happy birthday, I’m glad you found a place to stay – I had no advice for temporary lodgings you wouldn’t already know, but your plight was on my mind…x
Claire: It was really beautiful, and I love that one room is dedicated to the sculptures by Camille Claudel. Plus the interior.. Yes, it seems to have worked out well now.
love these
wonderful, wonderful, wonderful… xo bb
Hello Madelene,
The photos are superb and I’m glad you’re enjoying living in Paris.
The difference between being a turist and having to see everything in a rush as opposed to actually live in Paris is so, so true.
I’m happy for you!
Happy belated birthday!
You are making me miss Paris so much !!!

Bombay Beauty: Being here is quite wonderful now.
Joanna M: Thank you so much!
Mandy: Ah, I remember missing Paris, being here is more calm and relaxed.
Happy Birthday! What a perfect way to celebrate! Your posts make me miss living in Paris so much. I really enjoyed dusk as well. I found it to be very quiet on a Sunday morning before around 11am…except at any major tourist sites or the flea markets of course which are bustling! And Musee Rodin was my favourite museum too, such a wonderful building and setting.
“It feels strange being in Paris without having to rush to see all, visit everything, photograph each memory.”
I so relate to this feeling. It’s so wonderful to have that freedom to explore without any limits.
Happy birthday, sounds like you had a perfect day.
